Blackdown Financial is delighted to announce that Financial Planner Charlie Wright has been nominated for the inaugural Somerset Future 30, an award recognising 30 exceptional professionals under the age of 30 who are making a significant impact across business, innovation and their communities.

The Future 30 celebrates Somerset’s most promising young professionals, highlighting individuals who are already demonstrating leadership, influence and a commitment to creating positive change within their industries and beyond.
Charlie’s nomination reflects an outstanding year of professional achievement, client success and community involvement. During the past 24 months, he successfully achieved his Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, attained Competent Adviser Status (CAS) and has already begun to work towards his Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning to earn his Chartered status, important milestones that demonstrate both his technical expertise and ability to deliver high-quality financial advice to clients.
Since becoming a Financial Planner, Charlie has quickly built a reputation for providing thoughtful, client-focused advice. He works closely with individuals and families to help them navigate complex financial decisions, including retirement planning, investments, pensions, estate planning and wealth preservation strategies.
One of the key reasons for Charlie’s nomination is his ability to combine technical knowledge with genuine empathy. His approach centres on understanding each client’s goals, values and personal circumstances, enabling him to deliver financial plans that provide clarity, confidence and long-term security. This client-first mindset has helped him build strong, trusted relationships and achieve exceptional outcomes for those he advises.

Alongside his work with clients, Charlie has made a significant contribution to Blackdown Financial’s growth and development. He has supported the onboarding of major client relationships, contributed to investment research and played an active role in strengthening the firm’s presence across Somerset.
His commitment to educating and supporting the wider community has also been recognised as part of the nomination. Charlie regularly contributes articles to Somerset Life magazine, helping readers better understand important financial planning topics and make more informed decisions about their financial futures. He also participates in educational video content and networking events, sharing knowledge and promoting greater awareness of the value of professional financial advice.
Beyond his professional achievements, Charlie is passionate about giving back to the local community. He has supported numerous charitable initiatives and fundraising events, including activities for local causes and St Margaret’s Hospice. Whether through volunteering his time, raising funds or supporting colleagues and clients, Charlie consistently demonstrates the values of compassion, integrity and community spirit.

Commenting on the nomination, Blackdown Financial’s Managing Director, Neil Rossiter, said: “We are incredibly proud to see Charlie recognised through this nomination. His achievements over the past year have been exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is the way he supports his clients. He combines strong technical knowledge with genuine care and empathy, helping people make informed decisions during some of life’s most important moments. Charlie is a valued member of our team and thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
Charlie added: “I’m honoured to have been nominated for the Somerset Future 30. Financial planning is ultimately about helping people achieve their goals and providing confidence for the future, so it’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised in this way. I’m grateful to the clients who place their trust in me and to the team at Blackdown Financial for their continued support.”
Everyone at Blackdown Financial would like to congratulate Charlie on this fantastic achievement and wish him the very best as the Future 30 programme celebrates Somerset’s next generation of business leaders, innovators and changemakers.
