Celebrating Success

At Blackdown Financial, we are delighted to be celebrating several exciting achievements as we continue through what is shaping up to be a memorable awards season.

We are proud to announce that Blackdown Financial has been recognised as a Bronze Winner in both the SME of the Year and Employer of the Year categories at the Great British Business & Community Awards 2026.

This recognition is particularly meaningful given the strength of competition, with more than 260 nominations received for SME of the Year and over 175 nominations for Employer of the Year. Progressing as Bronze Winners to the next stage of the judging process is a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the passion, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by our team every day.

As Bronze winners we automatically progress into the Silver and Gold Awards, and the final judging for the GBBC Awards takes place later on this week for these final spots with the award ceremony taking place on the 25th September.

These nominations acknowledge not only our commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients, but also the positive workplace culture we have worked hard to create and maintain. As an independent financial planning firm, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we are incredibly proud to see their efforts recognised on a national stage.

Alongside this company-wide success, we are equally thrilled to celebrate an individual achievement within the Blackdown Financial team.

Gabrielle Arey has been shortlisted for Young Administrator of the Year at the prestigious Money Marketing Young Financial Planning Awards. This recognition is thoroughly deserved and reflects Gaby’s hard work, dedication and commitment to supporting both our clients and colleagues. To be recognised among the industry’s emerging talent is a significant achievement, and we are immensely proud of her success.

The Money Marketing Awards ceremony will take place in London on 6 October, and the entire Blackdown team will be cheering Gaby on as she represents both herself and the firm.

While these achievements are certainly worth celebrating, they also serve as a reflection of the collective effort, support and trust that underpin everything we do. We would like to thank our team for their continued commitment, our clients for placing their confidence in us, and our professional connections for their ongoing support.

With further judging stages and award ceremonies still to come, we are excited to see what the remainder of the awards season holds. Whatever the outcomes, we are incredibly proud of what has already been achieved and grateful to everyone who has contributed to our journey so far.

Here’s to continuing our momentum and celebrating success together.
